Chemical Finishing
Wool can be treated with several different
chemical finishes depending on the end product and use.
Wool is treated for many reasons:
- To make it highly resistant to moths and other
insects, stains, moisture and fire
- To eliminate shrinkage
- To add color

- To retain color
- To reduce static build-up
- For ultraviolet protection
- To resist mildew formation
- To allow for easier care and maintenance
(washing and drying)
- To scour
- To remove color (bleaching)
