Belly samples below were taken from five different treatments (control with no added fat, control with added choice white grease, control diet but supplemented with 10% DDGS, control diet but supplemented with 20% DDGS and control diet but supplemented with 30% DDGS). The control diet with no added should in theory produce a more saturated carcass, because the animal is making more of it's own fat and that seems apparent when you look at pictures, 605, 613, and 614, where the belly is actually curving up, indicating it follows the natural belly line of the animal and doesn't bend. There appears to be very little difference in belly firmness when looking at control with no added fat, control with added fat and control diet but supplemented with 10% DDGS (may be a little softer, but are still in the process of analyzing all the data).
However, in both the 20 and 30% included DDGS the bellies are considerably softer.
