Handbook of Livestock Management Techniques, 2nd ed. by R. A. Battaglia. Purchase of the text is recommended, since it contains a majority of the subjects presented in lecture or laboratory. A copy is on reserve in the Lilly Life Sciences Library.

Attendance

    Attendence for class and workday laboratories is required, since the objective of this course is "hands-on" experience in animal management.  Knowedge of absence for a quiz, exam, or lab must be discussed with Dr. Nielsen in advance for any make-up to be acceptable.  In the event of last-minute, unavoidable absence, contact the instructor as soon as possible.  If no prior arrangements are made and/or no acceptable excuse is presented, make-up work will not be accepted and a grade of 0 points will be assigned.  See course outline for workday lab attendance --5 points will be deducted for each "no show".
