Welcome to the homepage for ANSC 245.  This site provides a convenient way to access important information and resources designed to help students be successful in the course. During the semester, new materials will be added to the site as they become available and as the instructor determines additional resources are needed by students. Use the e-mail link to the instructor if you have any questions about course content or procedures.

The objective of this course is to acquaint you with common management procedures and recommended management techniques used during the typical life cycle of livestock species (beef, dairy, poultry, sheep, and swine). The major emphasis of the lecture material is directed at the concepts you will apply in class and workday laboratories. You will be expected to understand and use appropriate livestock terms, understand stages of the life cycle in livestock and management practices to maximize livestock productivity.  In addition, you will be expected to perform various livestock management techniques and know why these techniques are currently used in American livestock production.  For further information about the course, grading and expectations go to General Course Information; for a listing of the lectures, lecture notes and assigned readings go to Lecture Syllabus; for class laboratory information and assigned readings go to Class Lab Syllabus; for a list of workday labs, contact persons and locations go to Workday Lab Information.
