Major Extension Activities:
- Develop and communicate current information on animal waste management and
nutrition for producers, consultants, industry and other extension personnel.
- Evaluating animal waste management system alternatives, comparing economics,
alternative management, effect on waste composition and animal performance.
- Determining fertilizer value of animal wastes, identifying crop responses,
economical value, management considerations, pollution concerns, manure
analysis, and the development of computer programs.
- Analyzing odors and gases in confinement systems with effects on animal
health and performance, management solutions, and teaching gas sampling
techniques.
